What does Child Trauma Consultancy do?

We provide two core services.

First, we deliver customised trauma-informed training and consulting for organisations and professionals who work with people affected by trauma.

Second, we provide independent expert witness reports for the Family Court of Australia and other courts.

Our work is practical, evidence-based and tailored to each client’s context.

Our training is for anyone who works with people affected by trauma.

This includes educators, out-of-home care workers, residential care staff, HR and leadership teams, legal professionals, community volunteers, health workers, government agencies, sporting clubs and many others.

We work with both frontline staff and leadership.

No. We do not provide therapy, counselling or clinical treatment. Our role is to equip the people who work around trauma with the practical skills and understanding they need to engage safely, confidently and effectively.

If someone needs therapeutic support, we can help point them toward appropriate services.

Every engagement starts with a conversation.

We take the time to understand your organisation, your team, the situations your people face and the outcomes you need.

From there, we design training and consulting that fits your specific context. We do not use off-the-shelf programmes.

It varies depending on your needs.

Engagements can range from a two-hour workshop to a full day professional development session, a multi-day programme or an ongoing organisational learning partnership.

We also offer debriefs, site assessments, one-to-one sessions and leadership consulting.

We work with you to determine what format and duration will be most effective.

We provide independent, trauma-informed expert witness reports for Family Law and other court proceedings.

These reports are rigorous, evidence-based assessments that help courts and legal professionals understand complex behavioural presentations and trauma dynamics.

Reports are grounded in accepted social work and trauma practice standards, maintain strict neutrality and are designed to support fair and informed decision making.

Contact us directly to discuss the nature of the matter, the scope of the assessment required and the relevant documentation.

We will walk you through the process and confirm timeframes and requirements.
