Child Trauma Consultancy is a specialist training and consulting practice dedicated to helping organisations and professionals create safe, trauma-informed environments for people affected by childhood trauma and adversity.
We work with organisations and professionals who regularly engage with trauma-affected people: educators, carers, leaders, HR teams, legal professionals and community services.
Our role is not to treat trauma, but to equip those working around it with the skills to engage safely, confidently and effectively.
We exist to bridge the gap between theory and reality.
While many professionals receive academic knowledge about trauma, few are given the tools to apply it in real-world, high- pressure situations.
We change that by translating trauma-informed principles into clear, usable strategies that support regulation, decision making and safe engagement.
Founded by Jaime Ramos, Child Trauma Consultancy blends lived experience of childhood trauma with decades of professional work across child protection, out-of-home care and trauma-informed practice. This combination creates an approach that is grounded, human and practical.
Jaime holds a Bachelor of Social Work and is a qualified Trainer of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
He has completed Suicide Assist Training and Conflict Resolution Training, with specialised expertise in working with children and adults affected by complex trauma.
His professional background spans child protection, substance use support, mental health, youth justice, forensic disability support, residential care, foster care and other welfare settings.
Jaime is a national and international presenter on trauma-informed topics, delivering training and conference presentations to audiences across Australia and internationally.
His presentations are grounded in frontline experience and focused on practical application —giving professionals skills they can use immediately in their work.
Jaime is also the Founder and Chairman of The Sixth Child, a charity that supports disadvantaged children through targeted community projects across Australia and beyond.
